A Clear Relationship with your Lord

I am a religious person. I am Mormon (a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). This will be one of a few writings in this category and I hope to add some personal standings that will enlighten others and prescribe my testimony. Any comments are my own and not official statements of the Church. If you want to know if it’s true for yourself, search, study, and pray.

I have strong convictions in my beliefs and what is taught by the prophets of the Church, both ancient and modern. I have studied many other other religions, not extensively, but enough to have sought out which church will help me fulfill my mission on earth and know about life beyond the grave. To receive baptism, additional covenants, and to obtain promises from the Almight above that will help me to live with my Family forever through live, modern day activity, and miracles. No other religion purports or offer this. This is the only church that even dares hint at the gesture. But it’s more than even that! It’s TRUE.

In a devotional address given at Brigham Young University by the late Bruce R. McConkie on March 2, 1982 he mentions some of the doctrinal points that are a foundation of a clear and concise relationship with our Lord. Our Lord in this context is in relation to our elder brother, the Saviour Jesus Christ. His Father, and our Father have a different relationship. It’s the same in that they belong to the Trinity and have one purpose and goal to “bring to life the immortality and eternal life of man”. But they are different personages and just as I have a different relationship with my earthly father and brother, do I have have different relationships with my Heavernly Father and Heavenly Brother.

This is one of the best articles I have read that helps to make some distinctions.

Why do I express this opinion? Because it clarifies our position with each of the two Beings and how we interact with Them.

Vector Graphics

What a chore it’s been to find software utilities that are low cost and do just the right things. That’s why I’m a developer. I like to build things to have the computer work for me. There is though a time in which it’s wise to let other developers to the work that isn’t your core competency. This is where Vector Graphics and graphics applications come in. I am a developer of front-end business applications for making ways to store, manipulate, and retrieve data for your business operations. Here are some graphics applications that have been great (not just vector graphics, but graphics applications in general)

  • Free
    • GIMP
    • Inkscape
    • VectorMagic (for tracing to Vector)
  • Pay
    • Lightroom (photo management)
    • PS (Photoshop CS)

Forthcoming will be some tutorials in using these to help you in your use of them. If you have any other graphics suggestions or tutorials, let me know and I’ll post them.

Concert: Linkin Park

West Valley City, Utah – The E Center

When I arrived with my friend to the E Center we found that the parking, even two blocks away was packed. The restaurants around the vicinity, I’m sure weren’t packed with patrons, but the cars were those of the concert goers. With a sell out crowd of 11,000 people, the representation of the group was phenomenal, an understatement. Continue reading
